PDF as a format offers a number of benefits: Ease with which the report can be printed, looked at in variety of conditions and by a variety of people, ease with which it can be shared with medical professionals, and eschewing of various compatibility issues. PDF report, with adequate typographic control should be a starting point for development of interactive reports in native web formats.
