Blue Button Timeline
After reviewing the inspirational posts and the categories highlighted, it occurred to me that there was a huge disconnect. While there's lots of talk about (and a desire for) making the EMR a living document that provides insights and accepts data from the patient, in the EMR we have a history of transactions, encounters and outcomes. Data is entered. It's date stamped. It's essentially a timeline. So let's celebrate and simplify the timeline in a way that's modern and useful.
Each instance of the EMR is treated as a date stamped event. As such, each instance appears in chronological order with icons as descriptors. a printed record would work similarly.
See the wireframes for examples. Works like the new fastcodesign.com mobile website.
