Sim-Pull-Find Health Information
Sim-Pull-Find Medical Information
Design by: Susan Ferreira
Project Description:
This design makes medical files easier to interpret using a key for the health categories that includes icons, colors, and line design making it simpler for the user to find and pull out necessary information quickly and efficiently. The simple to use and easy to remember design will aid doctors, health care providers, guardians and patients by saving valuable time regarding healthcare. Users can find information quicker through category color recognition. This design will better serve people for which English is not their first language, as they can rely on universal icons verses actual words. The user can add to this information either pre-print or when Sim-Pull-Find Medical Information is printed out. The index and all pages have the patient’s name, date of birth, and the date the record was printed. The index gives a snapshot of the number of medications, allergies, immunizations, etc. for a quick reference of what is to follow for the patient. Each category is divided using lines and icons to point to and highlight patient information and help the eye follow and locate pertinent information with speed and ease. Forms sometimes propose a problem for people when the information and the category do not exactly line up when printed out. To solve this problem, design lines that resemble a flow chart guide the eye from one to the other. These lines are also helpful regarding the lab results as they can link your eye from the test and type directly to the result. By creating a successful design for a patient’s medical information, the end result will be a more efficient and effective process for doctors, healthcare providers, guardians, and patients, which can only aid in the improvement of a patient’s overall health and care.
*Should a color printer not be available, this design could work successfully using a grayscale. The last page of the .pdf file uploaded is the index in grayscale to show an example what it would look like. Due to file size limitations, all pages in the grayscale version are not included.
