Keeping in mind that these records need to be accessed (and read, and analyzed) via the web, I designed a sample EMR as it would appear on a standard (8.5x11") sheet of paper. Much of our world is still print-based (lab results are often sent via postal mail, for example) so I wanted to preserve that dimension in this design.
