Authoritative CCD Data Specification Source?

My question has been alluded to but not definitely answered in other discussion threads:

Can we use *any* data fields in the HL7 CCD specification, or are we limited to those listed in the PDF associated with this challenge? In other words, the PDF you've provided seems to be a subset of the more robust data elements in the "official" CCD.

So: Stick with the PDF or use any data elements that are contained in the CCD, as used by the VA and BlueButton output?

  Hi Mitch,

  We are focusing on the fields that are in the HL7 CCDA specification for Meaningful Use 2. The fields in the PDF are a list of those.
